Fort Mill is about 20 miles south of Uptown Charlotte, and the drive is roughly 20-25 minutes off-peak on I-77. Most new communities are a few minutes from either I-77 or the Fort Mill Parkway, and Tega Cay adds a little time because it sits farther west toward Lake Wylie.
The Anne Springs Close Greenway gives the area a large network of trails, and Baxter Village and Kingsley Town Center cover everyday shopping and dining. Tega Cay offers lake access on Lake Wylie, and Carowinds sits right on the state line.
